This is with regard the recent survey on separating adult content from my main gallery. Thanks for those who responded, especially those who left comments. They're a big help!

So I've decided to maintain a separate gallery for the adult contents and keep this one as my main account featuring traditional superhero/fantasy and sci-fi-themed pieces:



It's actually a 2-year old account which I haven't had the opportunity to put into good use til today. It's quiet there for now, but I have an inkling it'll change soon! I have already uploaded a few pics and future mature content will go there directly. So basically those will be deviations that require me to click 'mature content' during submission, as well as bondage and other fetish content. My judgment call on the latter, as some pics with those elements might still find its way here, especially if they're subservient to the actual storytelling.

I will eventually move a lot of the mature stuff from here to there, but that's going to be a serious undertaking so that'll be in the course of many weeks. Meantime, I'll keep the old ones here in a special folder.

For those who've watched my account for the mature content, I really appreciate the support. At the same time, sorry for the inconvenience for having to move them to another gallery when a lot of them are probably already in your favorite folders. If you choose to un-watch this account, I understand, but if you're also interested in my more 'mainstream' work, I would love it if you keep watching this account as well.

UPDATE 13 March 2013:  I mentioned in my previous update that I wanted to adopt the cell-shaded style I use for my simple pinups [link] for full-blown pics. Originally intended as an option to a rendering style for my standard commissions, at this point I'm offering it initially and for a very limited period at $25* apiece ($10 per additional characters, 4 characters maximum). I'm still working on a bunch of stuff  so slots will be limited to just 4 pics. Turnaround time is about a month.

UPDATE 06 March 2013: Just a heads up (or two):

1.  Art style. As I've intimated to some people, the simple pinups I've been doing is just a preview of change of direction than I'm planning to take art-wise. As soon as I'm comfortable with the cell-shaded style, I hope to adopt it for my full standard pics as well.  But, no, I'm not getting rid of the regular full-shaded style immediately. In fact, and there would be a point when I'll be doing both styles side-by-side, giving the option to clients to choose which one they prefer, but eventually I will have to let feedback dictate which one I'll stick to.

2. Price Adjustment. The second point would be about my price schedule. I've noticed that I have been spending more and more time on a single standard piece than I usually do. Comparing my new output with the old, it's become apparent why: new stuff just have more details, more refined lines and are, generally, better drawn. In any good day I could do up to 2 standard pics, but these days I can barely finish one. Hope it's a good thing, though, as I always try to give people their money's worth given my price range. Given that, and also for economic reasons (raising 3 kids is taking its toll financially), I intend to increase commission prices by April 1. I'm thinking $35 (minimum) for standard pics to start with, then graduate it up $40 towards the middle of 2013.  Orders received/taken from hereon until March 31 will still be based on the current price schedule, but on a new one starting April 1. Hope it's fine with you guys!

UPDATE!!!! [27 Jan 2013]  Anyone remember the simple pinups I used to do in one of my old alternative accounts? Well, I've been itching to do a few more of those things. I tried reviving it a while back in this  gallery but it I couldn't seem to get into the style at that time and so it didn't quite work out the way I wanted it. Lately, though I've been watching a few random episodes of anime on cable and it occurred to me that if I give it another go I might be able to make the style work and, eventually, even adopt for full illustrations.

Meantime, I'm thinking of offering it again initially at my old price. So if anyone's interested, I can do it for $15* each. Single character and simple pose on flat or white background only. I have a few such  pinups in my gallery but this is the style and general look I have in mind (from my inactive ~BragaDoom account):



Note that I won't be doing any rough drafts for this type of commissions (though minor corrections are okay) so please provide clear description and visual references. Limited slots, around 5-7, depending on how many orders I get for my standard pics. Upfront payment via paypal only please.

I've done almost 3 batches of commissions since I my last update so a new entry is overdue! Most of the finished pics are already posted in my gallery. Others, though, will remain un-uploaded for now for different reasons (clients' request, pics with content which I feel are too explicit for DA , etc).

As to my current queue, I only have 3-4 pics to finish, and hopefully within the week, so for those who inquired, yes, I'm still open! Estimated turnaround time for the new batch will be 2-4 weeks.

My current offering will be still be standard commissions (details below) priced at $30*. As usual that price is minimum and can increase depending on the number of additional characters and other details required. For $30 however, you will get the best art I can give for the money you pay for:

I regularly do superhero/adventure pics, but as you can probably glean from my submissions I'm also open to doing sexy and fun fetish pics, though nothing too explicit or sexual. Kissing/passionate scenes and tasteful nudity are okay, though .

As with the previous batches, number of slots is still limited to 10. Much more manageable that way.

For those wondering why I no longer post the list of commissions, well, it takes some effort to maintain and, since I only spend a few minutes in DA every time I go online, it's likely it'll just quickly become out-dated anyway.

Gone for the longest time ever from DA but I'm back. Sorry for those who waited on the commissions. I have had problems—personal and creative—pile up on me one after another. I have been working on pics, just not at my usual turnover rate.  During my absence I tried my best to keep in touch through e-mail with everyone whom I owe pictures to so, whenever I could, I kept myself busy making progress on the pending work. That said,I sincerely appreciate the everyone's patience despite the delays.

The good news is that the past few weeks have been good to me, creative-wise, and, except for the a 3 day period that I was out of town, I've been producing at least 1 pic every day, sometime even two. Now I just need 2-3 more done before I'm all caught up.

I'm not formally opening for commissions just yet because I want to start with a clean list, but if  you want to make some inquiries or even reservations, please don't hesitate to e-mail me at jetamago@gmail.com. I will open again soon, probably this week, in fact, but I want to make sure that all remaining pics are in the can before I actually accept anything, and even then, just a very limited number of slots.

EDIT 6/10:  Time to for another journal update!

First off, I'm working on the next 2 pics on the list today, and then some. I know it's Sunday, but I've been busy during the last week with my kids' school enrollment (it's the start of a new school year here) so I have to make up for lost time working during the weekend. Will also do as many drafts as I can in the next 2 days, then mostly just finished pics after that.

Secondly, I'm also opening the commissions again. Please note, however, that any new work I accept at this point will have a turnaround time of not less than 3-4 weeks, so if you think you'd need the pic earlier than that then I can't be of much help, sorry. I always try my best to make it worth the wait (and money!), though.

Anyway, same terms, as described below. Please check them out if you're interested.

Lastly, I'm planning on increasing rate for additional characters ($10 instead of $7), but not for this round yet. Just thought I'll give everyone a heads up. And I'll definitely make it clear in my journal when I do. Meantime, if you want to take advantage pre-increase rates, now would be a good time to transact with me.

Update: So far so good. Logged on successfully 5 times out of 6 tries since yesterday.

Whew. I'm back. Just a quick visit to give you guys some updates:

HD Crashed!
Lost another hard drive almost a month back. Took me a while to get a replacement 'cause I had just paid all bills and sundry payables  so I was too broke to do a quick purchase. One and a half years worth of data wiped out, including projects, several important family photos, and my PvZ Zen Garden!.  My fault for not having taken the regular effort to backup.   Kicking myself in the head specially intensely for losing the photos!

Also, if you've been my client within the past year and a half (up to around the end of Feb) and is looking for another hi-res copy of a drawing I've done for you, chances are I no longer have it, except maybe if it's one of the hi-res stuff I've been recently uploading via Stash (but I will have to check) and those that I've sent via e-mail but which I haven't deleted yet (even Gmail gets full really quick with all those attachments). All layered PSD files are definitely gone, though, so post-job edits are no longer possible.

Net Problem (ho-hum)
Actually, I've been having this one frequently I'm starting to get used to it. Just waiting for my lock-in period to end with my current provider, then I'm going back to my old ISP. Goodbye, Globelines!

That said, I've been having difficulty with DA so it's been awhile since I lost logged on. I've started contacting clients thru e-mail a few weeks ago--initially asking them to resend their respective commission info--but now I'm communicating primarily with them via e-mail instead of DA notes.  So if you have any inquiry with regards commissions please send them to jetamago@gmail.com and we'll take it from there.

On a side note, I'm also having constant problems connecting to Blogger (I miss Jim Shooter's blog), Wiki, and Google Image Search (but Bing's not bad I guess).  Ironically, the site I try my best to avoid, Facebook, works perrrfectly!

Update 08 Feb 2012: I've been entertaining commission requests via notes so I might not formally announce slot openings for the next round. Been through some life issues, and a bad case of artist's block, too.  I'd rather not go into details but it's over now and I'm back. My apologies to those who waited.  I'll upload all rough drafts and finished stuff into my main gallery and get in touch with you guys in a moment.

For those who have contacted me for a commission thru notes during my absence, well, given the circumstances, I'll not be accepting anymore till all pending work are done. Please keep checking my journal for future announcement, though it's likely that the next batch would be a very limited run (maybe just 4-5 slots) as I want to focus on getting back on track with both life and work.

Update 17 July 2011: Massive gallery update and re-opening of commissions in the next 2-3 days.

Update 29 June 2011: Just when I felt I was on top of things then s@*t happened: erratic weather, shifting without warning from dry to wet affecting my health, leaving me feeling too sick and sluggishto do any decent work... scanner breaking down just when I thought it'd be nice to do the drafts traditionally using pencils (which actually turned out to be quite fun after doing things digitally for a long time). Anyway, I did manage to get the rough drafts of all remaining commissions done, scanned, and uploaded eventually. Just waiting to hear back from the clients before I proceed with the finishes.

* edit: come to think of it, I should consider myself lucky that that's all the weather we've been experiencing. Some parts of the country were recently visited by a typhoon and many of the affected communities are still flooded. Tsk.

01 June 2011 (original post): Hectic times. Lazy moments. Freelancing and parenting make up for a crazy mix. Wasn't able to make that May 8 opening announcement as planned but I'm happy to say that despite the mad schedule I've had I was able to deliver all commissions so far in under a month's time (reckoned from date of payment or receipt of details, whichever comes last). April 21 (UDPATE):  Ok, I need to move the next scheduled opening again. I took a couple of days off my actual commission work to learn Manga Studio Ex 4 (!!!) which a relative was nice enough to purchase for me (thanks!). As an artist who does lineart digitally, I find the tools, especially the pens and brushes, quite fascinating to work with. I'm still trying to grapple with most of the advanced features of the program (darn steep learning curve) but I already learned enough of some of the basic functions to embellish the figures in my latest DA submission ([link]). I intend to further incorporate Manga Studio in my work process and I hope to become comfortable enough with the program to help significantly improve the quality of my work and further lessen the turnaround time needed for each piece.

By the way, I'll be finishing up the remaining items from the April 9 batch in the next couple of days and will open for commissions again as soon as I'm done. Meantime, anyone who wants to be included in the next batch, please feel free to drop me a note.

April 15 (UDPATE): Hi everyone! Next commission opening is moved from April 16 to April 19 or 20. Wanted to finish this batch in a week's time like I did the previous one, but both motherboard and power supply died down on me and I ended up with no computer for 2 days (ah the downside of being a digital artist). Had to buy the parts and replace them myself. Kind of lost my momentum because of it.

On the upside I'm now using an Asus motherboard (turbo key revisited!) which is way better than my expired Asrock, and a 600w power supply which is now ample for my current needs (no pun intended). I also got to test run the newly revived system by updating the OCs Galore pinup I've been meaning to finish for months now, and also to start a mock cover series of my own. And, of course, even if I won't make my personal 7-day target for this batch, I'm sure 10-days max should be good as well.

April 1: Whew! Sorry for the lack of updates.  Couldn't upload images or post journals due some recurring net problems. Finally found a fix (hopefully, permanent) in a form of a new DNS address from the ISP so my connection should be problem-free in the days to come.

Anyway, I'm once again open for commissions. And to ensure that I stay on top of things I will be limiting each round to 5 slots only.
