Good day, everyone.

I’m sorry I’ve been away.  My last log-in I think was around 2013-2014. The reasons for my absence, unfortunately are deeply personal, and the embarrassing details of it I would rather not share at this time and I’m hoping we can just leave it at that.

I really did not plan on coming back to DeviantArt until I a few more matters settled first, but I owe a number of people some already-paid-for-art that are years overdue, and I think this is a good for me time to re-engage with them and see if it’s not too late patch things up.

I would have liked to say that I will be happy to refund commissioners for the money already paid, but, sadly, because of my present financial circumstances, I am unable to. Instead, please accept my offer to work on those pics instead and therefore help me make it right with everyone. Because I am presently struggling to make ends meet, however, I cannot afford to devote 100% of my time to the artworks all the time, so I would ask for further patience to give me time to finish up everything in my list.

Speaking of which, I do still have the list, which also includes the type of commissions requested, but I no longer have the specific contact info of the individual commissioners. I also can’t access my old e-mail anymore because it had been dormant for a really long time so all the message threads are probably as good as lost.  It took me some time in fact to search my files for information on my DeviantArt password so I could log in back here again.

If I may, I would like to request everyone I owe art to get in touch with me via my new e-mail, which is taclobanon@yahoo.com.  I still have most of the information about the commission and I think I also still have some finished art that have not been submitted yet, but I am also open to working on art based on revised information. I know some of those art are for specific stories or circumstances and if you think they’re already outdated and the resultant art would no longer be of use—as I assume would be the case for most of them—I’ll be happy to hear out what you have in mind.

Here are the commissioners that appear on my list: Shuma-Gorath, Devduck01, Kervala, Kley Sheddan, Jason4012, Exeter42, DragonTea, Egmccann, Gavin Riches, GPSBassist, Maguigan, Matthew Bigham, Matthew Steibling, MegatronResurected, Michael Holloway, Stryker, Wayne Thomason, Dynakor, Solari, Pumpmonger and Lordfoot-in-Mouth. If you are not in the list, please let me know, I might have inadvertently left you out. If I no longer owe you art, please let me know as well. (Edit: list updated based on new information)

I am actually looking forward to hearing from you and though I probably not be able to tackle everything in a short period, I am hoping to finally get everything done and make good with everyone. Besides, the least I can do is to spend a good deal of time with the art so I can deliver something you will be happy with. If I don’t hear from you, though, I will try my best to contact you, though that would probably be over DA since I no longer have a single e-mail address on my existing record.

Lastly and most importantly, please accept my deepest apologies for the inconvenience and for putting you through the fear that I might have run away with your money and not hear from me ever again. I also understand if some or even all of you are pissed at me but please rest assured that had I any choice I would never have disappeared unceremoniously. If you’re curious, though, I am okay given the circumstances, but it will really mean a lot to me if you will all give me a chance to work on all owed artworks so that I can finally erase any debt I have. After I’m done, I’ll probably be gone for some time again, but at least I can do that with clear conscience this time.

Thanks for your time and, for the commissioners, I hope to hear from you soon.

Taclobanon/Jet

Edit: Found the finished but unsubmitted/un-posted pics. There are a few, but I also saw some submitted but un-posted pics. I will be uploading them shortly.
UPDATE January 8, 2014: Already past midnight. Actually, almost 4 AM in my timezone. Couldn't sleep or do any more work so I thought I'd do another round of uploads. Still working on a few more sketches and have also resumed work on the pending color pics so expect another update in the next few days. I also still have a bunch of color pics from way back to upload, but I'll reserve those for the next round as well.

By the way, I will be ending the $12 sketch sale soon. I will probably take in just one more batch or orders, then it's back to normal prices. Thanks again, my friends, for the support!

If you have questions about commissions or are interested in getting one (details below), please e-mail me at jetamago@gmail.com. DA note is fine, too, but I check my e-mail more often than I do my notes so you'll get a quicker response there.

Meantime, good day, everyone!

UPDATE Dec. 28, 2013: First off, a belated Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and advanced Happy New Year to all!  Been busy with work and other stuff offline so I haven't been able to log into DA since my last update. Sorry for not being able to reply to the comments and notes in a timely manner. Most of my recent online activities were restricted to e-mail and checking out news about my hometown. Seems school will be resuming this January, so that means my family and I will be moving back to Tacloban around the 2nd week so the kids can resume their studies, and so that I can effect repairs and restore my place back to how it was pre-Haiyan. I'm happy to be going back after 2 months (the longest I've ever been away from home!), but at the same time, a tiny bit apprehensive as my city is still healing and a lot of the infrastructure and economic centers are not back in place yet. Hopefully, though, power in our village will have been restored by then. In fact I also hear that the city proper has already been re-powered so I'm optimistic it won't be long for our turn to come. In any case, progress in general seems to be moving smoothly and, thanks to my people's resiliency and to the unselfish assistance from all corners of the world, my city's future is no longer looking as bleak as it did immediately after the storm. Thanks as well to those who extended their support to me specifically. You are all cool people. I really appreciate it. :)

Now, time for some gallery updates! I wasn't able to upload everything during my last session so I'm going to continue bombarding you guys some more pics today. I'll also be uploading some of the black-and-white sketches afterwards. I'll also be going through the comments and notes later on. My apologies in advance, as I might not be able to reply to individual comments, but rest assured, every one's appreciated! I'll also be sure to get to you if you have queries and stuff.

About commissions, my $12 sketches are still open so if you're interested, e-mail me at jetamago@gmail.com. E-mail is good as I check it more often than I do my notes in DA. I will not be re-opening my standard commissions yet, though I will be resuming work on the pending ones starting this week. Right now I'm working on the remaining black and white sketches.  Again, thanks for the help extended me, I'm using a computer again! Not connected to the internet, but at least I can draw on it heh.

Update 2 : Upload was taking long so I skipped the rest of the standard color pics and went straight to uploading some of the black and white sketches so they can serve as samples. Here are a few specific pics.

Immolatasia Throne by Taclobanon   Bardik in Leather Armor by Taclobanon  Sandata by Taclobanon  Romulos and Remus defeats Ryan by Taclobanon

You can also find other samples here:

PS: I know I originally said $12 for single characters only, but if you want to have more characters in a pic, it's okay. Each additional character would be $7, though max would be 4 characters in a single pic (but no police line-up type arrangement, please, ;)). Again, please contact me via jetamago@gmail.com for commission request or inquiry. My Paypal is also jetamago@gmail.com.

Happy Holidays!

Original Post, around Nov. 23, 2013:

Glad to be finally back to DA after months of absence! Got a lot of stuff that I did while I was away that needs uploading. But, first:

I just went through days of hell!  Almost 2 weeks ago, Tacloban City, my hometown, was decimated by Haiyan.

Most of my people were left with no food, water, shelter and future. There was no power and no communication with the outside world. Government aid, if there was any attempt at it at all at that time, failed to reach us. We were left to tend to ourselves.

Three desperate days later I decided to get out of the city with my wife and 3 kids. Food and water were getting scarcer and the fact that inmates from the local prisons had escaped during the calamity and were running loose wasn't helping warm the spirits. There were also reports of rebels coming down from the mountains, and no police was in sight. There was no other choice. We walked more than 10 kilometers to the airport in the rain, abandoning our home, dragging only the essentials with us. There were dead bodies in the sidewalks, and the places we passed stank of decay, but somehow they were less of a concern to us than simply surviving and getting out of the city.

We spent almost 3 days in the airport (also practically flattened by the storm but still operable) but there were more people there than there were planes to carry everyone. We slept on wet floor on one occasion. We were starving and  dehydrated. I, myself, was weak, and I swear I thought I was close to dying. Fortunately, I stumbled into some kind souls who helped us out along the way and we made it. We didn't get that plane ride out of the city like we intended, but we did eventually manage to hitch a ride on a navy ship to a larger city west of us, Cebu.

That was the short of it. What my family and I went through, and the stories shared between friends and relatives, I can probably write a good-sized book about it. But right now it's time to think of another type of survival: economic.

I am glad the whole family made it, and I wish my story ends there, but the reality is that we now we have to start life anew and from scratch.

Right now, I need to raise funds for a new computer and to help defray expenses while away from home. The computer I will use to draw commissions. That's the only livelihood option I have left for now. In some way, I finally got my wish, I guess. :)

I am therefore offering B/W sketches (sample below) for $12 each for the time being.

I hope to resume the regular commissions as soon as I've raised enough money to invest on an entry-level PC. I managed, at least, to bring my Wacom with me so I got that covered. And the commissions I had been working on, as well as the finished pics, I was able to save on my tablet so it's just a matter of resuming work on them. So if anyone's willing to help out, please send me an email to jetamago@gmail.com with the visual references and descriptions. I can only do single characters at the moment as I still have to get used to drawing with actual pencils and ink again. I can accept payment through paypal at jetamago@gmail.com as well.

Thank you and more power to you guys.

-----

PS:  In the next hour, I will be unloading some of the pics from my tablet and upload them to my gallery. Please excuse the mass submission.

PSS: Thanks to fellow artists John Becaro and Josh Paraiso for sending help my way and helping me get things started. And thanks, John, for keeping eye on my gallery while I was away!

PSSS (or however it's done): I've been reading the comments, and it warms my heart seeing the concern you've shown for me. Thank you, everyone!
Just wanted to let you know I temporarily placed artworks older than 2 years (and a few more recent ones) in storage. That includes my personal favorites as well. I know it's such a pain to find a faved or group/journal-featured deviation marked as 'in storage' but please bear with me for a while as it will be temporary. It's part of my effort to clean up my gallery and keep content consistent. A lot of the pics will find their way back for public viewing eventually, but others will be in storage for good. Sometimes, we just have to move on, right?

On a more serious note, my sympathies goes to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, and their families. I hope who ever is or are responsible for the deed will eventually be brought to justice.

Meantime, stay strong, America!

I will eventually move a lot of the mature stuff from here to there, but that's going to be a serious undertaking so that'll be in the course of many weeks. Meantime, I'll keep the old ones here in a special folder.

For those who've watched my account for the mature content, I really appreciate the support. At the same time, sorry for the inconvenience for having to move them to another gallery when a lot of them are probably already in your favorite folders. If you choose to un-watch this account, I understand, but if you're also interested in my more 'mainstream' work, I would love it if you keep watching this account as well.

Now to upload some pics...

UPDATE 13 March 2013:  I mentioned in my previous update that I wanted to adopt the cell-shaded style I use for my simple pinups taclobanon.deviantart.com/gall… for full-blown pics. Originally intended as an option to a rendering style for my standard commissions, at this point I'm offering it initially and for a very limited period at $25* apiece ($10 per additional characters, 4 characters maximum). I'm still working on a bunch of stuff  so slots will be limited to just 4 pics. Turnaround time is about a month.

If you're interested, drop me a note or e-mail me at jetamago@gmail.com with details of your request. Upfront payment only please.

Thanks and have a nice day! :)

PS: offer applies to new orders only.

_______________
UPDATE 06 March 2013: Just a heads up (or two):

1.  Art style. As I've intimated to some people, the simple pinups I've been doing is just a preview of change of direction than I'm planning to take art-wise. As soon as I'm comfortable with the cell-shaded style, I hope to adopt it for my full standard pics as well.  But, no, I'm not getting rid of the regular full-shaded style immediately. In fact, and there would be a point when I'll be doing both styles side-by-side, giving the option to clients to choose which one they prefer, but eventually I will have to let feedback dictate which one I'll stick to.

2. Price Adjustment. The second point would be about my price schedule. I've noticed that I have been spending more and more time on a single standard piece than I usually do. Comparing my new output with the old, it's become apparent why: new stuff just have more details, more refined lines and are, generally, better drawn. In any good day I could do up to 2 standard pics, but these days I can barely finish one. Hope it's a good thing, though, as I always try to give people their money's worth given my price range. Given that, and also for economic reasons (raising 3 kids is taking its toll financially), I intend to increase commission prices by April 1. I'm thinking $35 (minimum) for standard pics to start with, then graduate it up $40 towards the middle of 2013.  Orders received/taken from hereon until March 31 will still be based on the current price schedule, but on a new one starting April 1. Hope it's fine with you guys!

Thanks for reading and enjoy the day!

_______________
UPDATE!!!! [27 Jan 2013]  Anyone remember the simple pinups I used to do in one of my old alternative accounts? Well, I've been itching to do a few more of those things. I tried reviving it a while back in this  gallery but it I couldn't seem to get into the style at that time and so it didn't quite work out the way I wanted it. Lately, though I've been watching a few random episodes of anime on cable and it occurred to me that if I give it another go I might be able to make the style work and, eventually, even adopt for full illustrations.

Meantime, I'm thinking of offering it again initially at my old price. So if anyone's interested, I can do it for $15* each. Single character and simple pose on flat or white background only. I have a few such  pinups in my gallery but this is the style and general look I have in mind (from my inactive BragaDoom account):

Note that I won't be doing any rough drafts for this type of commissions (though minor corrections are okay) so please provide clear description and visual references. Limited slots, around 5-7, depending on how many orders I get for my standard pics. Upfront payment via paypal only please. :)

For inquiries about this type or my standard commission, drop me a note or e-mail me at jetamago@gmail.com.

Thanks!

[Edit: original post 27 Jan 2013]

I've done almost 3 batches of commissions since I my last update so a new entry is overdue! Most of the finished pics are already posted in my gallery. Others, though, will remain un-uploaded for now for different reasons (clients' request, pics with content which I feel are too explicit for DA , etc).

As to my current queue, I only have 3-4 pics to finish, and hopefully within the week, so for those who inquired, yes, I'm still open! Estimated turnaround time for the new batch will be 2-4 weeks.

My current offering will be still be standard commissions (details below) priced at $30*. As usual that price is minimum and can increase depending on the number of additional characters and other details required. For $30 however, you will get the best art I can give for the money you pay for:

Samples:
Crimson Valkyrie to the Rescue! by Taclobanon Ronovi Tavisaen, Battle-Worn by Taclobanon

Commission details:
  • Price: $30* (add $10* per additional character, vehicle or pet. Small silhouettes of persons, body parts, weapons, those little airplanes in the background, and other similar objects are not subject to additional fees)
  • Max number of characters: 4 (including main). Please note that I'm drawing on an A4-sized canvass so the more characters there are on a page, the less detailed most of them are likely going to be.
  • Background? Yes, but nothing too complex.
  • Rough Draft Before Final? Yes.
  • Payment Mode: Upfront via Paypal (jetamago@gmail.com) or other money transfer methods

I regularly do superhero/adventure pics, but as you can probably glean from my submissions I'm also open to doing sexy and fun fetish pics, though nothing too explicit or sexual. Kissing/passionate scenes and tasteful nudity are okay, though . :D

As with the previous batches, number of slots is still limited to 10. Much more manageable that way. :)

For those wondering why I no longer post the list of commissions, well, it takes some effort to maintain and, since I only spend a few minutes in DA every time I go online, it's likely it'll just quickly become out-dated anyway. :)

The usual notes:

My standard commissions are for personal, non-commercial use only. You may post them in your blog, galleries, message boards, or make prints of them, but you may not use them for any commercial purpose, such as in sites requiring paid membership to view the artworks, book illustrations, prints for sale, and other uses for direct or indirect profit. If you plan to use the artworks for commercial purposes, please let me know expressly in advance so that we can draw up a binding agreement and, of course, agree on a commensurate per piece or bulk rate.

I also reserve my right to post the artworks in my personal sites, including my gallery, unless an artwork is covered by a non-disclosure agreement. I can, however, agree to temporarily hold off posting off artwork for certain reasons, like, for example, it is included in a story you are posting in your DA site and my posting of the art prematurely will spoil the story for others. Just let me know in advance, and I'll be happy to oblige.

Again, please e-mail me at jetamago@gmail.com for commissions. I can answer notes here in DA but I find e-mail best since I check it more often than my gallery, and organization-wise, the conversation thread feature of most e-mail services makes it easier for me to keep track of commission orders and descriptions. You should get a reply from me within 24 hours.

Update: Dec. 14. Big thanks to Shuma-Gorath for the 1-year sub! Much appreciated.

On the commissions front: I've already finished 1 pic from the new batch and on the way to finishing 2-3 more hopefully by weekend. Will start work on the next round of rough drafts soon and hope to send them to the clients for approval either tomorrow evening or the evening after that.

For slot availability, just send me a note or e-mail me.

Thanks!

____________
Original Post: Dec. 7.

Limited slot, depending on the individual work required from the provided descriptions; probably around 6 or 7, just enough to give me enough workload to busy myself with in a week or two, yet not too much as too be too overwhelming. I will definitely no longer allow my list to go beyond 10 at any given time, 'cause whenever I become too enthusiastic I always end up with too little leeway for emergencies and the unfortunate  consequences of those darned Muphy's Laws.

My current offering will be my standard commissions (details below) priced at $30. As usual that price is minimum and can increase depending on the number of additional characters and other details required. For 30 however, you will get the best art I can give for the money you pay for:

  • Payment Mode: Upfront via Paypal (jetamago@gmail.com) or other money transfer methods

If you are uncomfortable with upfront payments which is perfectly understandable, I can agree to send in the drafts first before you send me any funds, but please bear in mind that working on the drafts also consume time and creative effort, so once I send it, please consider it as a commitment on your part to send in funds. In my case, I will consider it an utmost obligation to deliver the drawings already paid for in advance, no matter what happens, or however long it takes (though, really, hopefully within a few weeks time).

I'm already talking with some clients so some, if not most, of them are probably good as filled, but if you want to make sure or just want to drop by to ask about my commission offerings, about what I can/will or can't/will not do, feel free to e-mail me at jetamago@gmail.com.

If we have already talked in the past about commissions (before I unfortunately disappeared for months), but have not officially closed the deal, and would want to resume talks, just e-mail me. I had items listed in my old journal entry which were not actually included in my actual to-draw list because of one or two details lacking, often descriptions, or payment (my actual workload was based on a screenshot of the PayPal payments received during, so my apologies if I wasn't able to get to your item/s).

A few additional notes:

My standard commissions are for personal, non-commercial use only. You may post them in your blog, galleries, message boards, or make prints of them, but you may not use them for any commercial purpose, such as in sites requiring paid membership to view the artworks, book illustrations, prints for sale, and other uses for direct or indirect profit. Edit: So much for that massive update. Internet too slow. Will upload the rest tomorrow. Meantime, enjoy and thanks for visiting!

----------------

Gone for the longest time ever from DA but I'm back. Sorry for those who waited on the commissions. I have had problems—personal and creative—pile up on me one after another. I have been working on pics, just not at my usual turnover rate.  During my absence I tried my best to keep in touch through e-mail with everyone whom I owe pictures to so, whenever I could, I kept myself busy making progress on the pending work. That said,I sincerely appreciate the everyone's patience despite the delays.

The good news is that the past few weeks have been good to me, creative-wise, and, except for the a 3 day period that I was out of town, I've been producing at least 1 pic every day, sometime even two. Now I just need 2-3 more done before I'm all caught up.

I'm not formally opening for commissions just yet because I want to start with a clean list, but if  you want to make some inquiries or even reservations, please don't hesitate to e-mail me at jetamago@gmail.com. I will open again soon, probably this week, in fact, but I want to make sure that all remaining pics are in the can before I actually accept anything, and even then, just a very limited number of slots.

Meantime, I'll be uploading as much stuff as I can so please bear with the massive message center update from my end. I will start reading notes and messages when I back online. One of the downsides of being gone from DA for very long is that the message center can get too overwhelming. However, if you feel you need to get in touch with me on something urgent, feel free to contact me through the aforementioned e-mail.

Talk to you all again soon!

:)

EDIT 6/10:  Time to for another journal update!

First off, I'm working on the next 2 pics on the list today, and then some. I know it's Sunday, but I've been busy during the last week with my kids' school enrollment (it's the start of a new school year here) so I have to make up for lost time working during the weekend. Will also do as many drafts as I can in the next 2 days, then mostly just finished pics after that.

Secondly, I'm also opening the commissions again. Please note, however, that any new work I accept at this point will have a turnaround time of not less than 3-4 weeks, so if you think you'd need the pic earlier than that then I can't be of much help, sorry. I always try my best to make it worth the wait (and money!), though.

Anyway, same terms, as described below. Please check them out if you're interested. :)

Lastly, I'm planning on increasing rate for additional characters ($10 instead of $7), but not for this round yet. Just thought I'll give everyone a heads up. And I'll definitely make it clear in my journal when I do. Meantime, if you want to take advantage pre-increase rates, now would be a good time to transact with me.

That's all for now. If you have any other inquiries about future or your current commission, or if even if you just want to ask me something that's not really commission-related , please don't hesitate to drop me a note or e-mail me.

Thanks!

***

EDIT 5/24: Been a while since I formally closed for commissions as I had wanted to keep an open-ended list, but I've received quite a number of requests in the last few days that the list is now a bit long. I'm therefore closing commissions temporarily. Hope to make enough progress in the next few days to allow me to open again by end of this month.

For those who made the queue, thanks for entrusting me with you original/favorite character(s)! Please keep checking back on my journal for updates (under Current List).

Have a good day!

***

EDIT: Removed reference to a certain money transfer company in my journal because I got a cease-and-desist notice from them for merely mentioning their brand as an optional mode of payment. Oh well.

Also cleaned up the queue by removing done items from the list:

:new: - commission request received within the last 3 days

I'm still open so please feel free to send me a note or e-mail (jetamago@gmail.com) if  you're interested in a commission!

-----------------------

Good day! :w00t:

Just wanted to let you guys know that I've opened a new commission category (details below):

BLACK-AND-WHITE PINUPS :new:

Commission details:
  • Price: $20 (add $5 per additional character, vehicle or pet. Small silhouettes of persons, body parts, weapons and other minor objects are not subject to additional fees)
  • Max number of characters: 4 (including main). Please note that I'm drawing on an A4-sized canvass so the more characters there are on a page, the less detailed most of them are likely going to be.
  • Background? Yes, but nothing too complex.
  • Rough Draft Before Final? Yes.
  • Payment Mode: Upfront (that is, before actually starting any work) via Paypal (jetamago@gmail.com) or other money transfer methods

And still available:

STANDARD (FULL-COLOR) PINUPS

Commission details:
  • Price: $30 (add $7 per additional character, vehicle or pet.
Yes.
  • Payment Mode: Upfront (that is, before actually starting any work) via Paypal (jetamago@gmail.com) or other money transfer methods

------------

GENERAL NOTES:
  1. Prices indicated are for private (non-commercial) commissions only. For commercial commissions please contact me via note or e-mail (written contract preferred).
  2. No non-disclosure agreements (NDA) unless for commercial use. On the other hand, I can defer posting of commissioned pic if requested, but not indefinitely.
  3. No character design/concept. Sorry.
  4. I'm also willing to do work under almost any genre, though you can get optimal results if you commission me to do super-hero (western comic-book art), sword-and-sorcery and sci-fi.
  5. I won't do anything that violates DA terms and conditions (see FAQ #60: Do you allow "Adult," explicit sexual or pornographic content on DeviantArt? How about linking off site? and FAQ #565: You prohibit the submission of 'pornographic imagery'; what do you consider this to be?).
  6. If you deem that 'time is of the essence' for the completion of the commission please let me know in advance so I can advise accordingly (I won't accept if the proposed schedule is not doable).
  7. Permission to post commissioned pics in personal blogs, galleries, message boards and social networking sites is hereby given in advance.
  8. Format: Digital (JPEG, TIFF and other single-layer formats) at 300dpi.

What I require from you:
  1. Visual references of the character, vehicles, pets, etc. to be drawn.
  2. A short bio or description of said character.
  3. Suggested pose, scene, or situation, if any.
  4. Upfront payment via Paypal (jetamago@gmail.com) or other money transfer methods.

Hope to hear from you soon!

My friend vnbenedicto is doing charity commissions to help out comic-book artist Tony de Zuniga. The artist, best known for his works with DC and Marvel and as co-creator of Jonah Hex and Black Orchid, is currently ill. If you want to help check out vnbenedicto's journal for more details:

Update: So far so good. Logged on successfully 5 times out of 6 tries since yesterday.

-------------------

Whew. I'm back. Just a quick visit to give you guys some updates:

HD Crashed!
Lost another hard drive almost a month back. Took me a while to get a replacement 'cause I had just paid all bills and sundry payables  so I was too broke to do a quick purchase. One and a half years worth of data wiped out, including projects, several important family photos, and my PvZ Zen Garden!.  My fault for not having taken the regular effort to backup.   Kicking myself in the head specially intensely for losing the photos!

Also, if you've been my client within the past year and a half (up to around the end of Feb) and is looking for another hi-res copy of a drawing I've done for you, chances are I no longer have it, except maybe if it's one of the hi-res stuff I've been recently uploading via Stash (but I will have to check) and those that I've sent via e-mail but which I haven't deleted yet (even Gmail gets full really quick with all those attachments). All layered PSD files are definitely gone, though, so post-job edits are no longer possible.

Net Problem (ho-hum)
Actually, I've been having this one frequently I'm starting to get used to it. Just waiting for my lock-in period to end with my current provider, then I'm going back to my old ISP. Goodbye, Globelines!

That said, I've been having difficulty with DA so it's been awhile since I lost logged on. I've started contacting clients thru e-mail a few weeks ago--initially asking them to resend their respective commission info--but now I'm communicating primarily with them via e-mail instead of DA notes.  So if you have any inquiry with regards commissions please send them to jetamago@gmail.com and we'll take it from there. :D

On a side note, I'm also having constant problems connecting to Blogger (I miss Jim Shooter's blog), Wiki, and Google Image Search (but Bing's not bad I guess).  Ironically, the site I try my best to avoid, Facebook, works perrrfectly!

Commissions (yes!)
I'm open for commissions (please see details below). But as mentioned above I'm still having difficulty logging into DA it's best you send inquiries or requests to my e-mail meantime. I'll try my best to log into DA from time to time, especially to post drawings, but right now e-mail correspondence would be the best option.

Update 08 Feb 2012: I've been entertaining commission requests via notes so I might not formally announce slot openings for the next round. Instead, I'll just post a new list as soon as I've confirmed requests from the clients. For more inquiries or clarification, please don't hesitate to drop me a note and ask away!

Meantime, I'm hard at work with the current workload and should be updating my gallery as soon as I have pics to upload. Also working on the remaining rough drafts and the usual long-term side projects off-DA.

On an entirely different and probably irrelevant note: there are a couple of new features in DA that are being beta tested that I want to try out so I'll be shifting from '*' to '=' for a while (Official Beta Tester mode!).

Thanks for the inquiries and your usual patronage!

Been through some life issues, and a bad case of artist's block, too.  I'd rather not go into details but it's over now and I'm back. My apologies to those who waited.  I'll upload all rough drafts and finished stuff into my main gallery and get in touch with you guys in a moment.

For those who have contacted me for a commission thru notes during my absence, well, given the circumstances, I'll not be accepting anymore till all pending work are done. Please keep checking my journal for future announcement, though it's likely that the next batch would be a very limited run (maybe just 4-5 slots) as I want to focus on getting back on track with both life and work.

Also, for any concerns and inquiry, please e-mail me at jetamago@gmail.com directly as I might not be coming here regularly till I'm finished with all pending commissions.

Thanks for understanding!

Update: I think I've uploaded everything that needs to be uploaded at this point. Hope I didn't miss anything. If I did, please let me know.

Journal Update 18 September 2011: I realized I've been away from my gallery for almost a week so I'm just dropping by to say I'm fine and not sick or having computer problems or anything (the latter would have sucked more thant the former IMO). Anyway, I'm kind of tied up with some family matters, and also with finishing up a couple of long-ish term projects with looming deadlines so I thought I'd get those out of the way first before I resume work on the regular commissions, hence, the apparent lack of updates these past several days. I'll need a day or two more before I get started on the queue again but anyone familiar with the speed with which I produce a pic would know that once I get to them I'll be through them in no time.

On an unrelated note, those who I've befriended or have befriended me on Facebook (and Tweeter!) would notice a general lack of activity on my part. It's deliberate. I'm cutting down on social networking for a while so I can devote any leisure time I have between drawings to reading all the books I've collected through the years but I've not had the ocassion to peruse since getting into freelancing. With all these clusterfuck events and reboots happening in the comics world, becoming a bibliophiliac again is refreshing.  it's heresy to some, I know, but I still love looking at comic-book art and will definitely keep buying comics primarily for that reason.

Anyway, that's it for now. Will get this gallery going again soon!

Journal Update 19 August 2011:   Quickly running out of commissions to work on. Anyone else interested in a $30 standard or a $15 quick commission please drop me a note. Thanks! :D

Journal Update 13 August 2011: Due to some internet issues (same old ones argh) I've only been able check my notes and e-mail once or (if I'm lucky) a couple of times a day. Correspondence might therefore be a bit slow for a time. Hope to fix this soon. Meantime, sorry for the inconvenience.

Journal Update 01 August 2011: Trying out the new DA 11th anniversary journal theme. Also: removed Twitter widget from homepage due to erratic behavior.

------------------------------

23 July 2011: First off, a bit of warning for those who hate getting spammed with notices of bulk submissions in their message centers: I''ll be doing just that in a few minutes. Sorry. :p

Now unto the main matter at hand: As the journal title obviously suggests, I'm once again open for private commissions.

Same terms and conditions, except that for this round I won't be offering mock covers. I need to take a break from those as I feel I'm running out, not only of fonts, but also of creative juice. Anyway, by doing away with mock covers (probably indefinitely), I can now focus on the artwork itself, especially since I've doing a lot of experimenting lately, hoping they translate into higher quality output in the months to come.

Speaking of experiments, I had been spending some time in a couple of galleries where I did things a bit differently (cell-shaded drawings, quickpaintings):

:iconbragadoom: :iconcosmichombre:

Well, I've shut those two galleries down (the second time for Bragadoom, I believe, but now--for good). I also originally intended to re-upload some of my favorite pieces there to here but I decided to just keep them where they are. I have so many pieces to upload today as it is (plus, a few more as soon as they get approved).

Anyway, I digress. Here are my current offerings:

STANDARD PINUP

(Samples)

More: taclobanon.deviantart.com/gall…

  • Price: $30 (add $7 per additional character, vehicle or pet. Small silhouettes of persons, body parts, weapons, those little airplanes in the background, and other similar objects are not subject to additional fees)
  • Max number of characters: Around 5 (including main). Please note that I'm drawing on an A4-sized canvass so the more characters there are on a page, the less detailed most of them are going to be.
  • Background? Yes, but nothing too complex.
  • Rough Draft Before Final? Yes.
  • Payment Mode: Upfront (that is, before actually starting any work) via Paypal (jetamago@gmail.com)

QUICKIE PINUPS

(Samples)
Superbass by BragaDoom Keahi by BragaDoom

  • Price: $15
  • Max number of characters: single character only
  • Background? none, or very simple
  • Rough Draft Before Final? No, but minor corrections (e.g., eye color, etc) are okay.
  • Payment Mode: Upfront (that is, before actually starting any work) via Paypal (jetamago@gmail.com)

(Please visit my BragaDoom gallery for now for more samples)

GENERAL NOTES:
  1. Prices indicated are for private (non-commercial) commissions only. For commercial commissions, please add 100% or more  to the base price, depending on the nature of the project.
  2. No non-disclosure agreements (NDA) unless for commercial use.
  3. No character design/concept. Sorry.
  4. I'm also willing to do work under almost any genre, though you can get optimal results if you commission me to do super-hero (western comic-book art), sword-and-sorcery and sci-fi.
  5. Format: Digital (JPEG, TIFF and other single-layer formats) at 300dpi.

Requirements from clients:
  1. Visual references of the character, vehicles, pets, etc. to be drawn.
  2. A short bio or description of said character.
  3. Suggested pose, scene, or situation, if any.
  4. Upfront payment via Paypal (jetamago@gmail.com)

Perhaps I should also mention in advance, that, yes, it's okay with me if you post the pic you commissioned me to do in your respective galleries, blogs, etc. :)

If interested, drop me a Note or e-mail me at jetamago@gmail.com.

Looking forward to doing business with you!

*********EDIT 23 JULY 2011: PLEASE REFER TO SUCCEEDING JOURNAL ENTRY FOR LATEST UPDATE*****

Update 17 July 2011: Massive gallery update and re-opening of commissions in the next 2-3 days.

Update 29 June 2011: Just when I felt I was on top of things then s@*t happened: erratic weather, shifting without warning from dry to wet affecting my health, leaving me feeling too sick and sluggishto do any decent work... scanner breaking down just when I thought it'd be nice to do the drafts traditionally using pencils (which actually turned out to be quite fun after doing things digitally for a long time). Anyway, I did manage to get the rough drafts of all remaining commissions done, scanned, and uploaded eventually. Just waiting to hear back from the clients before I proceed with the finishes.

* edit: come to think of it, I should consider myself lucky that that's all the weather we've been experiencing. Some parts of the country were recently visited by a typhoon and many of the affected communities are still flooded. Tsk.

Update 19 June 2011: A bit behind with the drafts. Had some urgent matters to attend to the past few days but they should be up within a couple of days.

________________

Update 13 June 2011: Next group of rough drafts by Wednesday or  Thursday / Commissions still open.

________________

Update 09 June 2011: 4-5 more pieces to be finished by Sunday

01 June 2011 (original post): Hectic times. Lazy moments. Freelancing and parenting make up for a crazy mix. Wasn't able to make that May 8 opening announcement as planned but I'm happy to say that despite the mad schedule I've had I was able to deliver all commissions so far in under a month's time (reckoned from date of payment or receipt of details, whichever comes last). Anyway, I think now is a good time to inform everyone that I'm open for commissions once again. Same terms and rates. For more info please check out my journal section or the bottom right corner of my main page.
